GEARING UP FOR FDF

It’s down to the wire. Again this year. Intensified practices. Costume decisions. Excitement, accompanied by sufficient doses of stress. Dancers, directors, parents, all coordinating this year’s participation at the Folk Dance Festival, which will take place in Ontario, California, February 12 - February 15. Annunciation will be represented by two groups -- Kymata and Arete. (The majority of parents of our two younger groups chose not to participate this year. We did last year, in the exhibition category.)

We wish our groups success. We are proud of them for their accomplishments, the discipline they have shown, their timeliness in attending practice, and the cooperation which exists among directors, dancers, and parents. In the end, it’s all about our children. It’s about raising them to be good Orthodox Christians, who also know about and appreciate their heritage. The dance program is one of those programs that helps foster this identity. We thank all who contribute in any way to the growth and development of this program.
